Dr. Blalock then completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at The Emory Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta. Her training focused in all areas of emergency care including trauma, medical emergencies, Psychiatric, OB-Gyn emergencies. Of all the areas of her training, she had themost enjoyment and strongest training at Egleston Children’s Hospital at Emory.
Dr. Blalock is actively involved in several organizations including UCAOA, ACEP, SCMA, United Physicians and ABEM.
As her career advanced, she began to see the need for more personal and interactive relationsips with her patients. She found she liked the ongoing relationships with individuals and their families. She also wanted to raise the bar on the “traditional treat and street” approach experienced in many ED’s. She new from personal experience that she wanted to see her patients treated as if they were family. She felt that in order to do that that the doctor must listen to not only what the patient says but to what they don’t say and and ask many questions. At the same time she became interested in more creative areas of medicine and trained extensively in Medical Aesthetic Skin Care. Since that time she has created and developed a practice that offers a unique assortment of services.: Emergency Care, Family Care, Gyn, Pediatrics, Preventive Care and Medical Aesthetics at Old Village Medispa. This has given her the opportunity to merge the passions of her life – great patient care with strong and continuous relationships with her patients.
In her spare time she enjoys walking on the beach with her 2 Yorkies, watching college basketball, gardening, swimming, pilates, sailing, snow skiing and enjoying island life with friends
